02 May 2022 - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
As part of the leading trade fair for robotics and automation "Automatica sprint" and the high-tech platform for AI and robotics "munich_i: munich_i_sprint21", an Ethical Round Table will take place on June 23, 2021. Moderated by Prof. Alena Buyx, selected guests will discuss the topic "Applying AI - How to create responsible technological innovations that promote well-being". The panelists include representatives from the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at TUM, and representatives from IBM, BMW, and the Deutsches Museum.
They talk about ethical issues surrounding the use of technological innovations. What social, political, and legal challenges does the application of AI pose, and what disruptive changes in work cultures and required expertise will it lead to? What strategies are needed to address them? How can technological solutions promote equity and prosperity? What role should policymakers play? The discussion will be held in English.
