Teaching at IHEM

An overview of the studies and teaching at the institute

Since the introduction of the new licensing regulations in 2003, the subject "History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine" (GTE) has been a compulsory subject in the training of medical students.

At IGEM, medical ethics will be taught not only as a theoretical discipline, but also in a very practical way using case studies and integrating the experiences of the students.

The Institute of History and Ethics in Medicine (IHEM) teaches predominantly in the human medicine program at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

Through lectures, seminars, workshops and other events, IHEM aims to help integrate medical ethics more fully into medical education.
