This year's Clinical Ethics Forum highlighted the legal and ethical perspective on dealing with uncertainty and disagreement in treatment decisions with surrogates with the theme "No more good and will, or is it?".

The speakers: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Volker Lipp from the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Dr. med. Ricarda Günther, Senior Physician Intensive Care Medicine at the Schön-Klinik Bad Aibling and Dr. Kathrin Knochel, Senior Physician Clinical Ethics at the MRI, informed about the central questions when it comes to acute medical decisions: who is allowed to decide what and what should be done when there is disagreement or uncertainty in dealing with the will of patients?

The lecture "Update on guardianship law: What do the reforms mean for medical care?" by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Volker Lipp, University of Göttingen, can be downloaded here: 2023 ForumKlinEthik MRI TUM Prof Lipp Lecture 20.6.2023.

The next Clinical Ethics Forum will be held on Thursday 11/16-23 and will focus on communication from an interprofessional perspective.
